Triangle Lake Montessori Information

Montessori is a 100-year-old educational philosophy and method created by Dr. Maria Montessori, Italy's first female physician.  Focusing on the child's five senses, Montessori is an exciting instructional method guiding children to develop skills in concentration, motivation, self-discipline, courtesy, respect, and a love of learning.  As a part of the GCS public school choice program, Triangle Lake Montessori applies the Montessori education philosophy to the NC Standard Course of Study, using self-paced, hands-on learning to achieve or exceed state and national education requirements.Triangle Lake Montessori  serves Pre-Kindergarten-Fifth grade. We incorporate Montessori practices such as hands-on materials, student choice, and opportunities for students to develop skills in concentration, grace, courtesy, respect, independence, and a love of learning. Triangle Lake Montessori offers multi-age classrooms at two levels Primary (PreK and Kindergarten) and Lower Elementary (1st and 2nd grade). Our goal is to continue to expand our Montessori program by ensuring we have Montessori trained staff and licensed to teach in North Carolina. In addition, our support staff includes a principal, assistant principal, school secretary/treasurer/data manager, school counselor, school psychologist, Curriculum Facilitator, cultural arts teachers (music, art, and PE), and a media specialist. At Triangle Lake students benefit from Montessori philosophy while still meeting district and state educational requirements.

The meaning behind our school logo: The colors green and yellow represent the land and sun. The dove is a well-known symbol of peace.
