Montessori education is built on the belief that children learn best through hands-on exploration, purposeful work, and meaningful choice. In our classrooms, students:

• Engage with hands-on, research-based materials

• Learn in multi-age communities in Pre-K/Kindergarten that foster leadership and collaboration

• Experience work cycles that support deep concentration

• Progress at their own pace toward mastery

Teachers serve as guides, carefully observing and preparing the environment to meet each child’s academic and developmental needs.

As a public school, we:

• Follow state standards and accountability measures (testing)

• Serve all students within our attendance zone

• Provide licensed teachers and certified staff

• Offer services for students with diverse learning needs

• Are tuition-free and open to all families

• Provide instruction in both a whole-group and small group setting

• Use researched-based and district aligned instructional materials

It is important to note that children do not need to enter Montessori with all of these traits fully developed. Our prepared environment is intentionally designed to cultivate independence, concentration, self-discipline, and intrinsic motivation over time.

Through work cycles and hands-on learning materials, students grow academically, socially, and emotionally at their own pace developing confidence in who they are as learners and as individuals.
